Several professors of mine have said that in order to have a greater understanding of someone’s facial features to work on a likeness, it is okay to trace over a photo in Photoshop and use that as a reference map. I’m doing a Star Trek piece and was having some issues with Karl Urban’s visage, so I decided to employ this method.
